Onik Gasparyan Also Does Not Trust Authorities, Claims Meeting Minutes Were Distorted
Onik Gasparyan's statement is delayed because immediately after the November 9 agreement, 'Bright Armenia' began lobbying for the idea of establishing a fact-finding parity commission. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, the head of the 'Bright Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, during a press briefing with journalists.
'Why did we propose to create a parity commission? Because it won't just include representatives from the three factions of parliament; it will also include experts and representatives. We have not initiated a fact-finding committee because we have the experience of the April War fact-finding committee, and if a committee is established, it will be led by Andranik Kocharyan. If Onik Gasparyan trusts Andranik Kocharyan and this government, then let them create that committee. I am just surprised that such a statement has been made,' said the parliament member.
Edmon Marukyan believes that Onik Gasparyan is simply unaware that according to the regulations of the National Assembly, a fact-finding committee is established based on the existing defense committee. 'I think Onik Gasparyan does not trust this government either, because he stated that the minutes of the Security Council meeting have been distorted. How can a government that, according to the General, distorts the minutes of the Security Council meeting be requested to create a fact-finding committee? The solution is a parity commission, which will not be led by Andranik Kocharyan and which will have balance. There is no balance in a fact-finding committee; no matter how much we vote against, the majority will be their own,' said Edmon Marukyan.
