Dear Colleagues, Why Do You Accuse of Acting Unilaterally or Considering Opinions? - Nazaryan

The biggest complexity in discussions about the causes and course of the war is that those asking accusatory questions contradict themselves, stated Lena Nazaryan, Vice President of the National Assembly, during the discussion on the report regarding the results of the implementation of the Government’s program for 2020, in response to the speeches and inquiries of the opposition.

She cited the example of Gevorg Gorgisyan's question directed at the Prime Minister, where the deputy inquired why the Prime Minister acted according to the opinions of generals and did not make unilateral decisions. Nazaryan also referenced another question from an LHK deputy regarding the unilateral signing of the November 9 statement without considering anyone's opinions.

“Now, without disputing the right of the opposition to present political accusations, I want to ask. Dear colleagues, what are you accusing; of acting unilaterally or considering opinions? In this way, you are absolutely not helping to make the reasons for the war and its course understandable,” emphasized Nazaryan.

In another instance, she mentioned the former member of the My Step faction who left after November 9, stating, “You say the defeat is yours,” forgetful that he was a member of the faction throughout the entire defeat.

Nazaryan also addressed the leader of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction, Edmon Marukyan. According to the Vice President of the National Assembly, there is an opportunity for Marukyan to personally listen to the recording of the former Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan's speech at the Security Council meeting and verify what was discussed in those meetings.

“But Marukyan says, ‘No, what will I tell you if I familiarize myself?’ Mr. Marukyan, do not tell us anything, but you may have questions about the actions or inactions of others besides the Prime Minister. You do not want to know the truth because you want to continue blaming a single person. Because if it turns out that this single person is not guilty or that only this single person is not guilty, you will have to either remain silent or accept that there are other actors in history,” said Nazaryan.
