Armed Man Takes Hostages in Tbilisi Bank

An armed man has stormed a branch of a bank in Tbilisi, as reported by Rustavi 2 television. Preliminary information indicates that he is holding two people hostage.

"All hostages have been released, and the assailant has been arrested. No one was harmed during the operation. All hostages are in a safe location," stated Vaja Siradze, director of the patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Police are currently on site, the area has been cordoned off, and the nearby Avlabari metro station is closed.
