Truck Breaks Through Iron Barriers and Lands Upside Down on Resident's Property; Driver Dies

A serious car accident occurred today in the Aragatsotn province. At approximately 09:10, the Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service received a call about a DAF brand truck that had veered off the road in the Ushi bends of the Yerevan-Vanadzor highway under unknown circumstances. The truck collided with iron barriers, broke through them, then crashed into several trees, uprooted them, and ended up upside down on a resident's property, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

Emergency responders from the 19th fire-rescue unit in Ashtarak promptly arrived at the scene, led by Deputy Commander Artak Shamiaryan. The operational group of the Ashtarak police department, headed by Division Chief Rube Nersisyan, is also present at the scene.

For more than 40 minutes, firefighters and emergency service personnel from the Aragatsotn regional rescue office have been searching for the driver. According to preliminary information, rescuers have roughly located the driver's body, and under the directive of the Ashtarak police chief, a special crane is being brought to the scene to lift the vehicle slightly so that rescuers can extract the body from beneath it.

According to the site, the truck was loaded with “Natakhtari” lemonade and beer, all of which has spilled across the area, and the vehicle itself has turned into scrap metal.
