Prosecutor's Office Appeals to Military Police Over Serzh Sargsyan's Alleged Disclosure of Confidential Information
The Prosecutor General's Office has sent a request to the Military Police regarding the alleged disclosure of confidential information by Serzh Sargsyan, asking to prepare materials and resolve the matter according to the established procedure. This was reported to "Azatutyun" by the head of the Prosecutor's Office public relations department, Arevik Khachatryan.
It is recalled that in an interview with ArmNews, former President Serzh Sargsyan, while denying allegations that the army was embezzled during his ten years in office, accused the current government of theft during and prior to the war. He also intended to substantiate his claims with specific facts, stating that during the war days, the government purchased bulletproof vests at several times higher prices, bypassing the Ministry of Defense, for $600 each.
Sargsyan also mentioned that during his tenure, a program for acquiring modern weaponry was established with specific financial sources. The program aimed to acquire 2,500 unmanned aerial vehicles by 2024 and over a thousand UAVs by 2020, as well as anti-air defense systems, but the program was altered by Pashinyan's government.
