General's Daughter Found Dead in Yerevan from Gunshot Wound

On April 11, 2021, at 5:05 PM, the police department of Zeytun in Armenia received a report from a citizen stating that a woman had committed suicide by shooting herself. An investigative-operational group arrived at the scene, where they discovered the body of a resident born in 1981 on a sofa on the balcony of an apartment building in Yerevan, with a gunshot wound to the left side of her chest, according to information obtained by NEWS.am from the Armenian Investigative Committee.

Next to the body, a "Makarov" type pistol awarded to her father was found, along with seven bullets, one fired cartridge, and one bullet. The firearm, cartridges, fired cartridge, and bullet were seized from the scene, and gunshot residue was collected from the deceased’s hands. Comprehensive forensic examinations, including medical and ballistics, have been ordered.

A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative division of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of the Yerevan Investigative Department under Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. An investigation is ongoing.

It is noteworthy that the deceased's father is a General-Lieutenant in the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). The pistol found at the scene was awarded to him as a recognition.
