Armenia Places High Trust in Sputnik V Vaccine: Nikol Pashinyan
The Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus enjoys high confidence in Armenia, with Yerevan needing nearly one million doses of the medication. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during an interview with Pavel Zarubin on the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program on the Rossiya-1 television channel.
“The first batch is arriving in Armenia; it consists of 15,000 doses, but we need millions. We have agreed with the President of Russia that Armenia will receive them. Today, the credibility of the Russian vaccine, especially Sputnik V, is increasing worldwide. People in Armenia also place great trust in this vaccine,” he said.
Pashinyan also added that he is very pleased with the negotiations held with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 7 in Moscow. “We had a very busy agenda. We effectively discussed all issues regarding bilateral relations, regional matters, security issues, and many questions related to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. I am very satisfied,” he emphasized.
The first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine has been transported to Armenia on Thursday morning. The country's Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, informed journalists that the Armenian side paid $142,500 for the delivered batch.
