Thieves Steal 300,000 Euros Worth of Jewelry from COVID-19 Patient in France

In France, robbers dressed as healthcare workers have stolen jewelry worth 300,000 euros from a resident of a Paris suburb who was in self-isolation after contracting COVID-19, reports the French publication Le Parisien.

The thieves attacked the 53-year-old man when he opened the door, thinking he was receiving a visit from hospital staff. They then tied him up and demanded to know the location of his fireproof safes. The man complied and revealed their whereabouts.

Interestingly, the intruders sanitized all the furniture in the apartment before leaving. Preliminary information indicates that the total value of the stolen jewelry from the safes amounts to approximately 300,000 euros. Investigative services are working to determine the identity of the criminals.
