Parents of Non-Attending Kindergarten Children Prepare Protest

The parents of children who do not attend kindergarten are preparing to hold a protest near the Ministry of Health. Anush Esayan, the initiator of the protest, told ArmDaily.am that they had intended to hold the protest yesterday, but decided against it due to a political rally by women, not wanting to be associated with that event.

“I believe we will set the date for the protest today, we won’t delay it much longer since I have also called the municipality, and nothing has changed; it seems the restrictions have not been lifted. Our demand is for the Ministry of Health to remove the restrictions, and if everything has returned to normal, let schools and kindergartens resume normal operations. My child was born in 2017 and has yet to attend kindergarten, but was supposed to start in September,” she said.

She noted that meetings and calls to the Ministry of Health and the municipality have been fruitless, and keeping children at home is more risky: “I can say from my experience that if I feel comfortable, I take my children with me everywhere since my son is in the second grade, which presents another issue. This means we parents share which day someone will take their kids or we take them to a daycare for a fee.”
