Nikol Pashinyan, ahead of his visit to Moscow, responded to a question from Interfax regarding Armenia's plans to continue purchasing Russian weapons, specifically Su-30SM fighter jets and their munitions.
He stated that Armenia is committed to expanding and maintaining a long-term military-technical cooperation with Russia, which aligns with the strategic interests of both nations.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia is interested in supplies from Russia to acquire modern, compatible weapons, particularly in conjunction with Russia and other ally nations within the CSTO, as well as munitions and armaments.
He emphasized that Yerevan seeks to obtain armament and munitions in the same configuration as that supplied to the Russian Armed Forces.
Regarding the Su-30SM fighter jets, Pashinyan gave a positive response, noting that they are modern multifunctional aircraft, and their acquisition is envisaged both through bilateral contracts and as part of the national armed forces development program.
