Live: What is happening at the Surmalu Trade Center
Today, April 6, at 03:07, an alert was received by the Crisis Management National Center via the "SOS SYSTEMS" fire alarm system regarding a fire at the Surmalu food processing center located at 15 Arshakunyats Avenue, Yerevan.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that six firefighting units, an aerial ladder, the operational group of the Crisis Management National Center, and the on-duty teams of the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Department and the Medical Support Department have been dispatched to the scene due to the complexity of the fire, categorized as a Level 2 alert.
It was determined that the fire broke out in the central part of the Surmalu shopping center, covering approximately 2000 square meters. An additional two firefighting units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to the scene.
A Level 3 alert has been declared for the complexity of the fire; six firefighting units and an aerial ladder have been dispatched from the Yerevan firefighting administration.
The fire was contained by 06:24. Stalls containing toys and household goods were burned, along with their contents. Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan and Fire Rescue Director Colonel Armen Gasparyan were present at the scene.
