Video: Man Opens Fire on Law Enforcement and Bystanders in Russia

In the cottage village of Mitishchi, a man opened fire on bystanders and law enforcement officials. Footage published shows police officers conducting operations in the village of Noviye Veshki.

The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that when police decided to inspect the house due to suspicions of illegal arms sales, the man opened fire and threw two grenades.

The building was cordoned off, and an assault later commenced. There have been no reported casualties. During the assault, law enforcement officials arrested the man, as reported by a representative of the emergency services to RIA Novosti.

The representative also noted that the armed individual released two children, but preliminary information suggests that there is another hostage in the house.
