Yerevan's Mistakes in Relations with Russia Led to Defeat in the War, Tarasov Says

Yerevan's mistakes in its relations with Russia led to defeat in the war, said Russian political scientist and Middle East and Caucasus expert Stanislav Tarasov in an interview with News.am on April 5.

According to him, Armenia must draw the right conclusions from the results of the war and build its relations accordingly with a partner like Russia.

“The West, which logically should have provided massive support to democratic Armenia, was completely passive. This was not reflected during the war, nor is it now (for example, in the form of assistance amounting to 2 billion dollars or euros for economic stimulation),” he stated.

The expert considers it appropriate to implement the provisions of the trilateral statement and to build political trust in the region (between Yerevan and Baku).
