VIDEO: Citizens Voluntarily Surrender 'Kalashnikov' Type Rifles in 3 Regions
In the framework of the "Arsenal-2021" preventive measure, the personnel of the territorial units of the police continue to carry out explanatory work regarding the voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition. Recently, results have been recorded by officers from the Kotayk, Goris, and Martuni police divisions.
Thanks to the explanatory work of the community police in Kotayk, a man approached the Byureghavan division and reported that he had found a firearm on the road from Jraberd village to Fantan village. In the mentioned area, Kotayk police discovered factory-numbered 'Kalashnikov' rifles and a magazine loaded with 27 rounds of 7.62mm caliber ammunition.
On April 2, a man who called the Goris police division reported that he had left a bag of weapons and ammunition at the beginning of Khnzoresk village. At the location he mentioned, Goris police found a factory-numbered 'Kalashnikov' rifle, a magazine, and more than 50 rounds of 7.62mm caliber ammunition.
The explanatory work of the criminal investigators of the Martuni police division was also effective; a resident of the city brought in a 'Kalashnikov' rifle without a factory number and more than 30 rounds of 7.62mm caliber ammunition.
Examinations have been appointed. We again urge citizens to voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition to the police in order to avoid criminal liability. The activities continue.
