Aliyev Orders Discussion on Construction of Reservoirs in Occupied Artsakh Territories

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has instructed to discuss the construction of reservoirs in the occupied territories of Artsakh. This statement was made during a video conference with the president of the "Melioration and Water Management" LLC, Zaur Mikhailov, as reported by Azerbaijani media.

Noting that there are existing reservoirs in these areas, Aliyev stated that it is necessary to analyze their current conditions. According to him, a "correct analysis must be conducted regarding the riverbeds to ensure rational use of these rivers." Many of them flow into the Araks River.

"Of course, the largest sources are the Khudaferin and Giz Galasi reservoirs located on the border with Iran. The volume of the Khudaferin reservoir is 1.6 billion cubic meters. To utilize it, additional infrastructure projects, of course, need to be implemented," he said.
