Tog and Shushi Were Liberated, Enemy Firepoints Surrounding Stepanakert Were Silenced: Commander about the Commander
The Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Lieutenant General Mikael Arzumanyan, has sent a message of condolence regarding the death of Artsakh Hero, Major General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan.
“The entire staff of the Artsakh Defense Army deeply mourns the death of Artsakh Hero, Major General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan, our beloved Commander. Taking command of the self-defense forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic during a time when the newly independent republic was under complete blockade and faced Azerbaijani aggression, the experienced military leader undertook the complex task of coordinating military actions and forming a regular army based on separate volunteer units with the responsibility characteristic of him.
The peak of the Commander’s leadership was the military operation “Wedding in the Mountains.” This operation was organized and conducted according to all the rules of high military art. By the time Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan was appointed to another position, Tog and Shushi were liberated, the enemy firepoints that were shelling Stepanakert around the clock had been silenced, and Artsakh had a reliable land connection with Mother Armenia.
On behalf of the entire staff of the Artsakh Defense Army, I express my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Artsakh Hero, Major General Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan. His name is inscribed in indelible letters in the history of Armenian military art. His legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of all of us,” the message states.
