Volcano Erupts in Southwest Japan, High Alert Issued
A volcano has erupted in southwest Japan, according to TASS, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency. The eruption occurred on Suwanose Island. It has been reported that the eruption has expelled lava masses up to a radius of 1 km, resulting in meteorologists declaring a high danger level on the island.
This means that approaching the volcano is prohibited within 2 kilometers. Currently, there are no reports of casualties or damage. Approximately 80 people live on the island, while the nearest village is located 4 km away from the volcano.
