China and Iran Sign Unprecedented Agreement
Iranian scholar Aharon Vardanyan wrote on his Facebook page, "Iran and China have signed a 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement of strategic significance, along with a plan to make over $400 billion in investments across various sectors. This can be said to fundamentally negate the United States' policy of 'maximum pressure' and its efforts to corner Iran economically, and consequently politically.
Accordingly, in the near future, we may see a sharp hardening of rhetoric from the Islamic Republic concerning the nuclear agreement and its remaining relations with the U.S. The starting point and direction of this shift can already be seen in the words of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: 'Yes, the situation compared to 2015 and 2017 has indeed changed, but not to the benefit of the United States, rather to that of Iran. Compared to 2015, Iran has become much stronger. Therefore, if the nuclear agreement is to be modified, it must change in favor of Iran.'"
