Body of Man Found on Stair Landing of Building in Gyumri

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 25-year-old resident of Gyumri. This information was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

On March 27, 2021, at 3:53 PM, the Gyumri emergency medical services received a report from the Police station in the Kumayri district about a man’s body found on the stair landing of a building on Yerevanian Avenue in Gyumri.

An examination of the scene revealed the body of a 25-year-old resident from the same building, which had a penetrating stab wound in the chest area.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Shirak regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under the first part of Article 104 (murder) of the Criminal Code, and the pre-investigation has been assigned to an investigative team.

A number of investigative actions have been taken, the victim's clothing has been seized, a forensic examination of the body has been appointed, several individuals have been interrogated, and assignments have been given to the investigating body.

Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to identify the person suspected of committing the alleged crime. The pre-investigation is ongoing,” the statement said.
