VIDEO. Migrants in France Demand Normal Living Conditions
The security forces in France evacuated hundreds of migrants who had set up more than 300 tents at the Place de la République in Paris, as reported by euronews.
The tent camp was created with the support of several associations that demand the provision of dignified accommodation for asylum seekers. Their action was called "Night of Solidarity." This is not the first time such an action has taken place in Paris. Last November, the police forcibly cleared a tent camp located in the same square, which shocked the entire country. This time, however, the evacuation was peaceful.
Shortly after midnight, authorities began the operation to accommodate the homeless migrants, transferring people to a rapid response service via buses.
