Tourism Sector Expected to Grow by 319 Percent Compared to Last Year: Kerobyan
By the end of the year, we will see more than a 10% economic growth compared to 2020, with noticeable activity in the agricultural and industrial sectors. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, during a conversation with reporters.
According to Kerobyan, we are approaching the point of recovery, while there has been a dramatic downturn in the tourism sector. “Armenia experienced a significant decline in tourism in 2020, but this year, you can already see tourists in the streets by March. A considerable number of Iranian tourists have arrived, there are more bookings in hotels in April, and by May we will enter a normal rhythm,” he said.
Kerobyan assured that everything will be done to avoid tightening measures due to the coronavirus situation.
