Robert Kocharian's Office Issues Statement

The office of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, has issued a statement: "The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia has declared Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia invalid and unconstitutional, which was the basis for the alleged overthrow of the constitutional order case. The Constitutional Court has established that Article 300.1 contradicts Articles 78 and 79 of the Constitution. The decision of the Constitutional Court is final and comes into force from the moment of publication. Robert Kocharian's legal team, as well as reputable international organizations, have expressed professional opinions regarding the unconstitutionality of this case since the very first day of the second president's illegal detention. Due to this unconstitutional case, President Kocharian has been unlawfully deprived of his freedom for 537 days."
