Frost Approaching: Preventive Measures Needed in Blooming Apricot Orchards

The Ministry of Economy of Armenia warns that due to weather conditions, preventive measures need to be taken in blooming apricot orchards in the coming days. This information was published on the ministry's official page.

According to information released by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, temperatures are expected to drop to -4°C during the nights of March 28 and 29 in the Armavir and Ararat regions. Therefore, if the specified temperature is maintained for more than 5 hours, it is necessary to take preventive measures in the blooming apricot orchards.

Simultaneously, aiming to prevent the development of fungal diseases due to rainy weather, the ministry recommends that plant protection measures be organized mandatorily.

It should be noted that the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reported that during the nighttime hours of March 28 and 29, negative temperatures are expected in the valley regions of the republic, with air temperatures dropping to -3...-4 and soil surface temperatures to -5…-7 degrees. From March 28 to 31, dry weather is expected without precipitation.
