Current Situation on Armenia's Roadways: Report from the Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports: "There are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
The roads leading from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers and is difficult to navigate for other vehicles. Snow is falling on the Vardenyats Pass and in the town of Martuni in Gegharkunik Province.
In Vayots Dzor Province, there is a snowstorm on the Vardenyats Pass and on the 'Zanger'-Gorayk roadway.
Regarding Lars: According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars roadway is closed. There are approximately 602 trucks stranded on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires."
