Biden Announces Intent to Hold China Accountable
Washington plans to enhance cooperation with allies and partners to take measures against China. This was announced by U.S. President Joe Biden, according to TASS.
Biden noted that earlier this month, he discussed with representatives from several countries on how to hold China accountable in the region. He acknowledged that consultations have specifically taken place with Australia, India, and Japan. “Democratic countries need to work together,” he emphasized.
Biden stressed that such consultations will continue, including with European countries. He also reminded that he had previously held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping: “We had a two-hour conversation. We made certain things clear to each other.” He highlighted that Washington will insist that “China plays by the rules of fair competition, fair practices, and international trade.”
