At least 20,000 New Specialists Needed in High-Tech Sector, Hakob Arshakyan

In the next five years, at least 20,000 new specialists will be needed in Armenia's high-tech sector. This was stated by Hakob Arshakyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, on his Facebook page.

“As you know, the growth of the sector in 2018 and 2019 exceeded 30%, while in 2020, during the crisis, it was more than 20%. The forecast is based on the assumption that sector growth will be at least 20% in the coming years, while job growth will be 15% (taking into account the possible increase in salaries). Looking at these figures once again, I would like to encourage and call upon our citizens to choose education, especially in scientific fields, and for specialists to acquire additional knowledge in the technology sector by participating in the programs of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and other educational/retraining initiatives,” the minister wrote.
