Turkish Citizen Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Killing Georgian Policeman in Front of Children
The regional court in the city of Gori, Georgia, has sentenced a Turkish citizen to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of a Georgian policeman, according to a statement from the Georgian Prosecutor's Office, as reported by Sputnik-Georgia.ru.
The murder occurred on July 1 of last year in the city of Gori. The foreign national killed the policeman, with whom he was renting a house.
During the trial, it was established that the foreigner attacked the sleeping homeowner with a knife, inflicting multiple blows on the victim with particular cruelty in the presence of children, before fleeing the crime scene. The policeman died on the spot from his injuries.
