Thunderstorms, Rain, Occasional Snow, and Wind Intensification: Weather Forecast
Meteorologists have presented the weather forecasts for the upcoming days in Armenia and Artsakh. On March 24-25, and on the 27th, significant precipitation is expected in various regions of the country, with possible thunderstorms, particularly on the 24th in isolated areas. During the day on the 26th and at night on the 28th, the weather is expected to be dry.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Hydrometeorology Service reports that the wind will be coming from the southwest at a speed of 2-5 m/s, with wind intensification expected in isolated areas reaching 15-20 m/s, and on the 24th, up to 20-25 m/s. The air temperature is predicted to gradually decrease by 10-12 degrees Celsius between March 24-28.
In Yerevan, rain and possible thunderstorms are anticipated on March 24-25 and the 27th. Dry weather is expected on the 26th and 28th. On the night of March 24, the temperature in the capital will range from +10 to +12 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will reach 14-16 degrees.
It has already been reported that a powerful cyclone will penetrate Armenia on the evening of March 23. This cyclone will affect our region until March 25 inclusively. Precipitation is expected in all regions, with snowfall in the higher mountain areas and rain in the foothills and valley zones. In some areas (Aragatsotn, Kotayk), precipitation will be quite intense, accompanied by thunderstorms and wind intensification of 20-25 m/s. It is not ruled out that from March 28, the weather will clear up, although during nighttime hours, the air temperature is expected to decrease. Forecasts indicate that in the Ararat Plain, temperatures may approach -1 to -2 degrees.
