Predictions about the Danger of War are Absurd: M. Hakobyan

Although discussions about a new war have become more frequent lately, the former head of the General Staff, Movses Hakobyan, expressed an entirely different opinion in an interview with 'Iravunk'. Addressing the danger of a new war, the general stated: 'Predictions that there is a danger of war are absurd. Today, neither Turkey nor Azerbaijan would engage in such risky adventures. Not because they can't or don't want to.' He elaborated: 'Erdogan and Aliyev know very well that any military action against Armenia would not go unanswered by Russia.'

When asked about concerns regarding the Syunik and Zangezur regions, he replied: 'I do have concerns, but I rule out military operations in that area at least in the near future.'
