Children May Desire to See Pashinyan Like Ostriches, Bears, and Lions, but as a Source of Danger, They Are Separated by Bars in the Zoo - Sahakyan

Nikol Pashinyan has no rating in Armenia and has never had one, stated Ara Sahakyan, the former head of the RA National Assembly staff, during a broadcast of the "Review" program, noting that during the snap elections, he will not gather the 30 percent that sociological studies have portrayed and assigned to him.

According to Sahakyan, Pashinyan is currently guided solely by personal fear, particularly concerning his own security rather than that of his family. Referring to Pashinyan's statements in Aragatsotn that he is not one to flee, Sahakyan emphasized that he indeed has a flight-prone character, pointing out several instances of his escape. Specifically, he shared that Pashinyan fled in Goris after hearing the sound of an Azerbaijani drone and complained that the air wasn’t properly closed. He also fled after signing the well-known document on November 9, 2020, and exhibited nervous twitching in bunkers.

“Yes, he is escape-prone. The question is that to defend his persona and fabricated approaches, he can resort to any lie, any disgraceful act, any measure,” Sahakyan remarked.

Commenting on the actions of the opposition, Sahakyan noted that in his observation, our opposition thinks more about the country’s rating and the people than Pashinyan does, and the opposition still hopes to achieve its goals through political processes.

“I am more than confident that in elections he will have a critical mass; Pashinyan will not gather 30 percent, which has been assigned to him by sociological studies. I am confident that the overwhelming majority of society understands that the sole culprit of our problems and the reason for the collapse of our future is Nikol Pashinyan,” he stated, emphasizing that there is a large public consensus on this issue.

In response to a journalist's question regarding the participation of schoolchildren during his meetings in Aragatsotn, Sahakyan described this as immoral. He highlighted the fact that Pashinyan attended the meeting wearing a bulletproof vest, indicating that he had been warned about being more of a source of danger. Additionally, his security was ensured by numerous security personnel and operatives in civilian clothes.

According to him, such concerns may have been justified due to the calamities caused by Nikol Pashinyan. “At least 15–20 thousand families have suffered irreparable losses, and any person from those families, under any influence, could take any action against Nikol. But bringing children there and putting their safety at risk is the pinnacle of immorality,” he emphasized.

Regarding the Minister of Education’s statement that children expressed a desire to see Pashinyan, Sahakyan noted that this again proves that the education sector should not be managed by people lacking pedagogical knowledge, emphasizing that this is an anti-pedagogical aspiration.

“Yes, children may desire to see Nikol Pashinyan; they may wish to see an ostrich, a bear, and a lion, but since ostriches, lions, and bears pose greater threats, they are separated by bars in a zoo. If children genuinely wished to meet Pashinyan, it could have been organized in a closed venue, ensuring safety conditions.”

“Using children as a living shield is unfair,” he added.
