Why Putin Will Not Be Vaccinated in Front of Cameras
During a press briefing, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the head of state will be vaccinated against the coronavirus by the end of the day. "It is a working meeting according to schedule, but we expect that he will do it by the end of the day," Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesperson noted that the president will be vaccinated with one of the Russian vaccines. "This will be done in a way that does not affect the president's schedule," he said.
At the same time, according to him, President Putin is not in favor of being vaccinated in front of cameras, so journalists will have to take his word for it. "He will be vaccinated with one of the three [Russian vaccines]... The president is doing a lot to promote the vaccines. As for vaccinations in front of cameras, he is not in favor of that," Peskov said, indicating that Putin “does not like it.”
As previously reported, Vladimir Putin stated that he would be vaccinated against the coronavirus on March 23. "Vaccination is certainly a voluntary choice for every person, a personal decision for everyone. By the way, I myself will be vaccinated tomorrow," Putin said during a consultation.
He did not specify which vaccine he will receive, but Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti that it could be one of the three domestic vaccines.
