VIDEO: 'Leave your Artsakh' - Taxi Driver Abuses Artsakh Women in Yerevan, Says Human Rights Defender

Human rights defender Ruben Melikyan raises concerns about internal racism through a Facebook live discussion. He stated, "My video addressing the issue of internal racism has received significant attention. I have additional points to make regarding this matter.

1) We visited the Central Police Department with one of the girls and filed a report regarding the crime under Article 143 of the RA Criminal Code.

2) Our goal is not to imprison the abusive driver, but to resolve the issue by bringing it to light.

3) If the driver publicly and sincerely acknowledges his guilt and apologizes to the girls, we will not insist on mandatory criminal accountability.

4) Yes, we have the driver's phone number and vehicle registration plate; however, we do not find it appropriate to disclose them at this time as we are giving the young driver a chance to reflect on his actions and draw necessary conclusions.

5) 'Legal Way' and I are prepared to address any manifestations of internal racism—this phenomenon must be eradicated," Melikyan wrote.
