PHOTOS. Here is the freshest picture of Baghramyan Avenue. Arsen Babayan
As previously reported, hours ago, the "Homeland Salvation Movement" opened Baghramyan Avenue. Pro-government users rushed to share photos on Facebook, allegedly depicting Baghramyan Avenue after the opposition forces had left.
In particular, the former blogger who became the deputy head of the Prime Minister's Office, Taron Chakhoyan, shared a photo and wrote, "This is a symbolic photo. Baghramyan Avenue today." (He later deleted the post.)
The photo being circulated prominently featured trees covered in lush green leaves, whereas, at this time of year in Yerevan, the trees are bare. We managed to find out that the photograph was actually taken on September 25, 2017, in Melitopol, Ukraine. These are the dirty streets left behind by Ukrainians celebrating the city's holiday.
This false information has sparked intense discussions online. "The pro-government fake barons are lying to the public again, claiming that we have kept Baghramyan Avenue dirty. Here is the freshest picture of Baghramyan Avenue," wrote Arsen Babayan, a member of the Council of the "Homeland" party, while sharing the photo.
