How Turks Persuaded Canadians to Supply Key Component of 'Bayraktar', Used Against Artsakh

According to 'Hetq', after public and political pressure, the Canadian government presented documents to its own parliament regarding the supply of military products to Turkey. This refers to the 'WESCAM' systems installed on Turkish 'Bayraktar TB2' drones, which played a decisive role in the 2020 Artsakh war. These systems enabled Azerbaijan, with direct assistance from Turkey, to monitor the movements of the Armenian army and deliver targeted strikes.

In other words, Canadian systems have been a crucial component of Turkish drones that have provided invaluable service to our enemy's army.

In October 2019, considering Turkey's invasion of Syrian territory and the extensive use of 'Bayraktar TB2' UAVs against Kurdish forces, Canada halted the supply of weapons and ammunition, including electro-optical technologies used on drones and other platforms, to Turkey. However, in April 2020, an exception was made only for this type of equipment.

Moreover, that month, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Subsequently, in May, the Canadian government allowed the export of seven 'WESCAM' systems to Turkey, one of which ended up in the hands of the Armenian army on October 19, after our troops destroyed a Turkish 'Bayraktar TB2' operated by Azerbaijan.
