Baku Sets 3 Conditions for the Return of Nearly 200 Prisoners of War
Baku has put forward three conditions for the return of nearly 200 prisoners of war. This was stated by Siranuhi Sahakyan, the representative of Armenian prisoners' interests, at the ECHR, noting that there are currently around 200 Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that Baku acknowledges the fact of the capture of 73 individuals but does not recognize the existence of 120 other prisoners, despite the Armenian side having irrefutable evidence regarding their capture.
To secure the return of all prisoners, Baku has set forth three conditions:
- The withdrawal of Armenian military units from the territory of Artsakh.
- Additional territorial concessions, such as Tigranashen (Qarakilisa).
- Control over the road leading to Shushi via the Red Market.
Baku is leveraging the issue of Armenian prisoners in solving these problems. In response to the question of where this information was sourced, she stated that the information is obtained from various sources, including previously prepared drafts of documents. This was reported by the Baghramyan 26 Telegram channel.
