Dilijan's 'Male' Mayor Orders Pruning of Protected Conifer Trees
The 'House of the Nature Protector' NGO raises alarm on their Facebook page: 'Conifer trees MUST NOT be pruned. Under the instruction of the new mayor of Dilijan, the fir trees in the Jrhogh district are currently being pruned. That street is one of the most beautiful places in the entire city. Pruning the fir trees is not only the epitome of ignorance, but one can say much worse things to the initiator of such an act. Where else would you see a mayor personally ruining one of the city's hallmarks? Let's SPREAD THE WORD and put a stop to this absurdity.'
It is noteworthy that weeks ago, controversy arose when the Prime Minister appointed David Sargsyan, a former gas station employee, as the acting mayor of Dilijan; he had written 'male' in regard to his gender.
