One of the Missing Soldiers is in the Hospital: Unfortunately, the Other's Life Could Not Be Saved

As previously reported, on March 21 of this year, under severe snowstorm conditions, communication was lost with contract soldiers K. Shakhnazaryan and A. Hovhannisyan while they were moving from one combat outpost of the RA Armed Forces N military unit to another. On the same day, extensive search and rescue operations began, which were hindered by the continuous snowfall.

On March 22, in the latter half of the day, the location of the soldiers was identified. Necessary measures were taken to evacuate the soldiers. After conducting the evacuation operations under extremely difficult weather conditions, K. Shakhnazaryan was transferred to a military hospital. His condition is assessed as serious. Unfortunately, A. Hovhannisyan's life could not be saved.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the heavy grief of the loss and expresses its support to the family members, relatives, and colleagues of the deceased soldier. Materials are being prepared in the Military Police to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
