Closing Schools and Switching to Remote Learning Is Not the Best Solution, Dumanyan

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Vahram Dumanyan, believes that closing schools and switching to remote learning is not the best solution; however, if necessary, they will be compelled to take such measures.

Dumanyan expressed this viewpoint during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly, addressing the question of whether there could be restrictions related to the ongoing pandemic.

“This is not a desirable option. We must do everything possible to maximize preventive measures to avoid such a situation, but if compelled, then of course, that is also a way to fight against the virus. God forbid that such a situation arises,” Dumanyan said.

The minister emphasized that closing schools and generally restricting activities is not the best solution. “But if we are forced, we must do it. Today, this issue does not exist,” he noted.

The minister also pointed out the need to encourage the public to be as diligent as possible in maintaining preventive measures to avoid finding themselves in such a situation.
