Artak Davtyan Issues Statement
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan, has issued a message. In his address, he stated, "To ensure the continuity of work initiated for the reevaluation and strengthening of our country and Artsakh's security systems after the 44-day heroic and self-sacrificing war, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia have fulfilled and will continue to fulfill the tasks set before them to neutralize external threats. The situation created following the known statement of the leadership of the Armed Forces has been resolved, and the existing discrepancies have moved to the legal sphere.
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, being under the jurisdiction of the Government and subject to civilian oversight, will maintain neutrality in political matters, guided solely by the exclusive obligation to ensure the defense, security, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Armenia," the message reads.
The Armenian government issued a statement today noting that Artak Davtyan is legally considered to be appointed as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
