It’s Time to Answer for All Your Horrific Lies and Actions: Serzh Sargsyan to Pashinyan
The sitting capitulator occupying the post of Prime Minister today resumed his old profession during a regional visit, shamelessly repeating the same lie a hundred times and distorting the history of the negotiation process to suit his political, or rather, anti-national objectives, deceiving people. This was stated in a statement released by the office of the third President of Armenia.
“The sitting capitulator occupying the post of Prime Minister today resumed his old profession during a regional visit, shamelessly repeating the same lie a hundred times and distorting the history of the negotiation process to suit his political, or rather, anti-national objectives, deceiving people. It won’t work. Remember well, capitulator, you will not be able to erase the deliberate victimization of thousands of our youth who perished due to your ineptness (this will soon be clarified by the court), the settlements you surrendered in Artsakh, the enemy's encroachments on Armenia’s borders that you tolerated without objection, and your cowardly courtship with the enemy who tortures our sons in Baku's prisons and destroys our millennia-old cultural heritage in Artsakh under the guise of false peaceful calls, while the enemy continues to threaten the Armenian people to this day.
No one believes you anymore because you have lied throughout the war, lied afterwards, and you lie now. Lies are your essence, and when they have also crossed the borders of Armenia, your pathetic form has become intolerable to our country’s partners as well, and their harsh responses have not been delayed. When you heard the negotiation history of the Artsakh issue from the enemy of the Armenian people, or in your terms, ‘cultured’ and ‘constructive’ Aliyev, it’s clear that it had to become your only truth.
From the very first moment of your office, you shamelessly lied by stating that you do not negotiate with Aliyev, but merely familiarize yourself with the negotiation history during meetings. The lie was revealed when, during a video conference roundtable with representatives of the A.M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund on April 21, 2020, in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explicitly and unambiguously stated that the parties were presented with a new proposal back in April 2019, which includes a phased solution.
The misleading and dishonest statements from the Armenian authorities regarding the absence of a negotiation document thus vanished into thin air; no one from Armenia officially denied Lavrov's statement, as it was a reality that the anti-national Armenian authorities were hiding from their own people in Armenia and Artsakh. This was yet another addition to the chain of lies, unfortunately. The future capitulator will have to tell the next horrific lie and officially receive another slap, this time from the Russian Foreign Minister, who commented on the infamous article by the Armenian Prime Minister regarding the ‘origin of the 44-day war’ through the words of Igor Popov, the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, which stated that the Russian proposals regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict did not touch upon the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and only concerned the return of the 7 regions to Azerbaijan, clearly refuting it, emphasizing: ‘...to assert that Russia offered simply to return the seven regions and forget about the status and relax does not correspond to reality.’ This was also a reality that the other co-chairing countries did not object to, thus revealing the irresponsible and deceitful essence of the one occupying the Prime Minister's position.
After assuming the post of Prime Minister, the capitulator intentionally nullified the fundamental principles of negotiations conducted by the Armenian authorities with the co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group prior to 2018, including the five declarations of the presidents of the co-chairing OSCE Minsk Group countries, namely the USA, Russia, and France, thus undermining the solid negotiating positions of the Armenian side. Initiating the negotiations from a ‘own point’ and labeling the negotiation legacy led the agenda to ensure that the Madrid principles, Vienna, Saint Petersburg, and Geneva agreements, which all included provisions regarding the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination, were practically excluded from the negotiation agenda.
Commenting on what Serzh Sargsyan stated in the National Assembly back on April 17, 2018, he concludes that ‘What should we have done, should we have accepted the unrealistic and unacceptable conditions of Azerbaijan regarding the issue of Karabakh, should we have continued the process of returning Karabakh to the composition of Azerbaijan?’ One would ask, by what manipulative trick did Serzh Sargsyan’s words suddenly become ‘the process of returning Karabakh to the composition of Azerbaijan’? He had listened so much, he should at least have the sense to listen this time to his ‘cultured’ colleague Aliyev, who publicly stated during his visit to Kashatagh—surrendered by the capitulator’s broken hand—that ‘the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020, became the recognition of the “capitulation of Armenia” and allowed Azerbaijan to return the Lachin (Kashatagh) and Kelbajar (Karvachar) regions. During the negotiations, they never wanted to return the Lachin and Kelbajar regions to us. This was the main reason for the lack of agreement during negotiations. Unfortunately, Armenia and a number of its foreign patrons sought for five regions to be returned to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan was satisfied with that, Nagorno-Karabakh would have gained independence at that time, while the Kelbajar and Lachin regions would remain under eternal control of Armenia. But I rejected this offer.’ The capitulator was slapped for lying at that time and fell silent because he had nothing to say.
You ask why, since May 2018, when you were still not Prime Minister for a week, Serzh Sargsyan and his associates insisted that you came to hand over lands, how did they know and why did they state that Artsakh would never be part of Azerbaijan? The answer is singular—your entire journey, your ever-expressed approaches on the issue of Artsakh, your articles and statements lead only to this conclusion. On the same day, April 17, 2018, from the podium of the National Assembly, Serzh Sargsyan announced that the negotiations had stalled because of Azerbaijan. And when you came to power, with the cynical statement of ‘we negotiate whatever we want,’ you yourself directed the negotiation process in such a direction that Armenia became the unconstructive side, for which no country from the OSCE Minsk Group defended aggrieved Armenia during the last war. This is also directly evidenced by the statement from co-chair Igor Popov in the part where he discusses the negotiation history, stating: ‘...Although it has not been possible to reach a complete agreement, the most important thing is that negotiations have always proceeded until 2018, when Yerevan introduced new approaches.’
This disgusting series of lies and manipulations is endless, but the populist manipulator is little interested in that. What matters is to continuously repeat the lie, convincing himself that society will eventually accept it as the truth. After all, this trick has been successfully applied many times. However, as the saying goes, the legs of a lie are short, just like you are shortsighted, capitulator! You will no longer deceive our people with your trickery. It’s time to answer for all your horrific lies and actions.
