I Knew My Case Was Being Directed by Nikol Pashinyan's Gang: Ruben Hayrapetyan

I knew my case was being directed by Nikol Pashinyan's gang; it was obvious. However, I did not expect to such an extent that his legal advisor, Anna Vardapetyan, would guide investigators and assume the roles of prosecutor, investigator, judge, and executioner. This was stated by former MP and businessman Ruben Hayrapetyan during Satik Seyranian's "PRESSING" talk show.

“In May, I had requested the investigator not to pursue a case against me and my family over the phone, and he sent me an SMS. Anna Vardapetyan had instructed our Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize a flight and return me to Armenia, while I had traveled to Russia so that I could depart from there to Germany for a medical examination. My doctor had shown the investigator documents regarding my health, indicating that I was leaving due to my condition, but they ignored it and issued an arrest warrant. It was evident that this was politically motivated, but I did not expect it to go to such lengths, with that character, Anna Vardapetyan, directing them, taking on the roles of investigator, prosecutor, and judge, performing the role of executioner—I did not anticipate that. If justice does not take appropriate steps and punish the investigator and her, since I am also a Russian citizen, I will appeal to law enforcement in Russia and they will very quickly access her email. I would just ask our law enforcement to ensure that the 'dirt does not get thrown out of the house' and they should deal with them. Can you imagine, if they search Anna Vardapetyan's computer, how many emails they would find concerning all the politically persecuted individuals? I will wait for 5-6 days; if no actions are taken, I will myself appeal to Russian law enforcement,” noted Hayrapetyan.

Ruben Hayrapetyan described the legal proceedings against him and his son as a mockery. He recounted that the criminal case against his son began in early 2016 when he had health problems, and his son, fluent in languages, was dealing with those issues—talking with foreign doctors, making arrangements, and so forth. After the April War, his condition worsened and they traveled to Germany, where he underwent surgery and was unable to move freely for 3-4 months. During this time, his son's company director took loans totaling over 60 million drams, purchased a taxi service, furniture, and gold for his girlfriend, among other expenditures.

“My son resorted to neither violence nor appealed to law enforcement; he tried to convince them to return the money. He has returned part of it. I saw him in August around the area of 'Harsnakar' and expelled him,” said Hayrapetyan. According to the businessman, then-Police Chief Arman Sarkisyan instructed to discredit his son, Rafik Hayrapetyan, and pressured his fiancée to state that he had attempted rape, among other fabricated accusations.

“Immediately after your report, the prosecutor's office should have confiscated the computers of Anna Vardapetyan and the investigator; in a normal country, that would have been the procedure. There are so many cases in that computer... Anna Vardapetyan goes to the Supreme Judicial Council and consults with our third republic's most disgraceful forger and corrupt individual, Gagik Jhangiryan; it is well known that he laid the groundwork for election fraud in this country since 1995, even in 1999 he was issuing orders for illegal activities. Gagik Jhangiryan was inserted into the Judicial Council to compel judges to make unlawful decisions and to exert pressure in his private office.

My and my son's banking secrets have been disclosed by Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Vardapetyan, the leaders of this gang, to their favored businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, who has lodged 3-4 complaints against me with the Anti-Corruption Committee and investigations are underway regarding those cases. There is another theory; let them ask the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, how much weaponry I have purchased and supplied to the Defense Army; let him say if there has ever been a case where anything has been said from his lips and I did not contribute to Artsakh. I believe these banking secrets have been handed over to Azerbaijan to declare an arrest warrant against me. After the publication of your video, I called that dishonest investigator and he is afraid to pick up the phone. I urge them to take Anna Vardapetyan by the hand and lead her to isolation. Their safety depends on that. There were many episodes involving Anna Vardapetyan,” concluded Ruben Hayrapetyan.
