83 Employees of «Hayantar» Not in the Country for Years, Yet Salaries Were Disbursed

The «Hayantar» state non-commercial organization has come under the scrutiny of the Republic of Armenia's Audit Chamber. According to reports from the newspaper «Zhoghovurd», the Chamber has been examining the financial activities of the «Hayantar» organization under the Ministry of Environment.

It has been revealed that from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2018, a total of 83 employees were outside the territory of Armenia for 2022 working days, yet calculations for working hours were made in the records for the days they were absent, resulting in a payment of 9 million 216 thousand 200 drams.

Furthermore, it has been learned that under a contract signed between the Ministry of Environment, the office for implementing the “Protected Areas Support Program - Armenia,” and the “Hayantar” organization on January 23, 2018, a total of 2300 cubic meters of firewood valued at 11 million 799 thousand drams was to be supplied by December 30, 2018. However, the organization informed the Audit Chamber that only 1637 cubic meters of firewood worth 8 million 397 thousand drams were provided during the months of February, October, November, and December of 2018.

Moreover, due to a modification of the contract, instead of acquiring a tractor and a charcoal production workshop, a “Toyota LC Prado 4.0L” vehicle was purchased.
