New Resolution Demanding the Return of Captives in the US Congress

US lawmakers have called on Azerbaijan to immediately release Armenian captives. The resolution presented by the co-chairs of the House Committee on Armenian Issues has garnered support from 31 representatives. The resolution states that Azerbaijan is distorting the status of prisoners of war in an attempt to justify its desire to keep them captive.

House member Adam Schiff condemned the detention of hundreds of Armenian soldiers and civilians in Azerbaijan more than 100 days after the last war in Artsakh. "Azerbaijan is already guilty of the horrific atrocities committed during the last war, and this exacerbates the situation further," Schiff stated, emphasizing that the US must ensure the return of Armenian captives through all diplomatic channels.
