Administrative Court's Code Will Suspend the Appointment Process of New Chief of Staff: Gohar Meloyan
Constitutional expert Gohar Meloyan wrote on her Facebook page:
“Attempts to exert pressure on the judicial authority continue. The information about the pressures exerted on Administrative Court Judge Mher Petrosyan regarding the case of Onik Gasparyan is more than credible, especially in light of the numerous apparent factual circumstances that have recently emerged regarding the pressures applied by the ruling party on the judicial system, and the context of the government’s silence on these matters.
The application of precautionary measures by the Administrative Court to suspend the unconstitutional process of terminating the powers of Chief of Staff Onik Gasparyan is more than justified. As a result, the process of appointing a new Chief of Staff will be suspended under part 2 of Article 91 of the Administrative Procedure Code, and Onik Gasparyan will continue to fulfill his duties as Chief of Staff until the final judicial act enters into legal force.
It is obvious that the regime is in a state of panic, as it would seem that even the gross violations of the Constitution by the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic were not sufficient to decapitate the Armenian Army.
Therefore, it is more than likely that the ruling party, which would not shy away from any means to achieve its objectives, will resort to yet another extreme illegal step.
In any case, I am confident that Judge Mher Petrosyan, who enjoys the respect of the legal community, will assess this unconstitutional process in his judicial acts, regardless of the attempts to exert pressure.”
