Fire Breaks Out on the Roof of the Post Office Building at Republic Square

A fire has broken out on the roof of the well-known Post Office building located next to the government building at Republic Square.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Auroranews.am, firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently working at the scene. As a result, traffic in the area of Republic Square is heavy.

Recent details revealed include that at 04:30 on March 15, the National Crisis Management Center received a call reporting a fire on the roof of the Haypost building at Republic Square in Yerevan.

Six fire crews from the Fire and Rescue Department of Yerevan responded to the scene under a Level 2 alarm, along with an operational group from the National Crisis Management Center and a duty group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department.

It was determined that the fire started on the roof of building number 2 on Tigran Mets Avenue.

The fire was contained at 06:18 and extinguished by 07:44. Approximately 200 square meters of wooden structures on the roof were burned, along with about 100 square meters of the ceiling on the 4th floor.
