30 prisoners may be returned, but they want to 'cut' something else, the goal is the territories – relative of a missing soldier

Government circles have assured the relatives of missing soldiers that it is possible for 30 prisoners to return soon, hinting that there are complexities involved; the enemy is demanding territories.

This was reported to 'Factinfo' by a relative of one of the missing servicemen, who noted that they have been told in various departments: 'Be patient; there will be news about the captives soon.'

Information regarding the possible return of prisoners was also mentioned during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense last week. Addressing the official statements from Baku that Azerbaijan has returned all military captives to Armenia, the soldier's relative stated: 'They are lying; instead, they are making demands.'

'There is no such thing. This is a territorial issue, there are games being played with territories. They want to 'cut' something else, they are trying to achieve that. If there are no captives, how could they say that they can give us 30 people? If there is none, where would they get 30 people from? Vagarshak Harutyunyan emphasized that they want to give 30 captives, but what their real intentions are, God knows what is buried under that. The goal is definitely the territories; we all understand that,' said the relative of one of the missing servicemen in an interview with 'Factinfo.'

It is worth noting that in a conversation with 'Factinfo,' the special representative of the President of Artsakh for special assignments, Boris Avagyan, also expressed hope that we would have positive news regarding the captives in some time.

After the meeting at the military department, a group of relatives of missing servicemen traveled to Artsakh, but several parents do not know the purpose of the group's trip to Artsakh. One thing is certain: the issue has not been resolved at this time.

'Let them return, and we’ll see what they have done there, what the issue was that they went for. I have no idea what the purpose was, what they went for, or what our next steps will be,' our interlocutor said.
