Hackers Did Not Break In: How the Phrase 'Karabakh is Azerbaijan' Appeared on the Armenpress Website

The website of the state news agency Armenpress was not hacked by Azerbaijanis. In an interview with Sputnik Armenia, Vardan Torosyan, the director of the company responsible for the site’s security and services, provided this information.

“The site was not hacked; there were technical reasons involved. The server of the site went down for a very short time. There is a Cloudflare system that acts as an intermediary between the reader and the site's server. When the server went down, the system showed a cached image,” Torosyan explains.

According to him, the technical issues were momentary, and not all users experienced the same issue; some were simply shown that the site was unavailable.

Torosyan points out that it is impossible to understand why the system displayed that particular image from its cache.
