Young Man Who Stole €3100 from Neighbor's Home Found

On March 10, a report of a burglary was received by the Kumayri Police Department in Gyumri. An operational group of the department, along with officials from the local investigative body, went to the scene on Kominterni Street. The 74-year-old homeowner informed the authorities that she had stored €3900 in one of the jars in her pantry, out of which €3100 had been stolen, presumably between February 10 and March 10.

A criminal case was initiated, and Kumayri police launched a series of operational investigative measures. Through operational inquiries conducted in the neighborhood, detectives established that the money had been stolen by the victim's neighbor. The 17-year-old young man was found on Tigran Metz Street in Gyumri and was taken to the department for questioning, then presented to the Shirak Regional Investigative Department.

It soon became clear that the 74-year-old woman had lent him money, and the young man had returned the debt using the stolen money. He had also purchased expensive items for himself. Part of the money had been exchanged for dollars, and a smaller amount of the stolen currency, which was not spent, was recovered. The preliminary investigation into the criminal case continues.
