Road Cleaning and Treatment Works Underway

Due to the snowfall and blizzard on March 11 and 12, the inter-state, republican, regional, and community roads in the Gegharkunik region have become difficult to traverse. As Gevorg Khachatryan, head of the Transport and Road Construction Division of the Gegharkunik Regional Municipality's Urban Development Department, informed Armenpress, the layer of snow has reached 10-15 centimeters. In some areas, particularly in the Vardenis region, the snow has been accompanied by a blizzard, complicating the operations of the organizations responsible for road maintenance.

“The accessibility of the roads is mainly ensured. As of the morning of March 12, the roads remain difficult to navigate in the Vardenis region, where the blizzard has not subsided. Meanwhile, in other areas where the weather is calm, cleaning and treatment works are being carried out to ensure road accessibility,” added Gevorg Khachatryan.
