Mobilizing the Unprepared to the Frontline: A Strategy to Curb Political Activity, Says Saghatelyan
According to Ara Saghatelyan, the former head of the Armenian National Assembly staff, the chaotic situation they created in the information space and the sending of unprepared individuals to the frontlines had a specific aim: to ensure frustration among the populace, preventing them from demonstrating political activity due to pain, grief, and deep disappointment. In an interview with Factinfo, Saghatelyan stated, "When Nikol Pashinyan announced that people should gather in groups of 30, elect a commander, and take bulletproof vests from their storage, that was at a time when he clearly knew he had not accepted the General Staff's information, rejected Vladimir Putin's proposal, and worst of all, did not accept the proposal from the five presidents to share responsibility and stop the war." He added, "Those who are willing to go voluntarily and sacrifice their lives for the homeland or national dignity are the active masses. When you send the active masses to the front, as Poroshenko did, you are reducing the risks that these people will be on the streets tomorrow."
